On Saturday the 4th of January, the Staceys arrived for a six day visit. After church on Sunday we went ouy for a pub lunch at the "Counting House" - a very boring JD Wetherspoons chain pub, but pleasant enough - here's Imogen sorting out the condiments table.
After lunch, we went up to McManus Galleries and saw the "Shoe" exhibition - here the girls are trying on some lovely footwear.
On Monday, we did St Andrews, with the usual stops at the castle...
.. and cathedral. However, we also visited St Leonards School, where Deb's mum had been a student.
After St Andrews, we visited Arbroath Abbey. A very impressive structure indeed. This also gave us the opportunity to buy a couple of Arbroath Smokies and some kippers for breakfast.
After our kippers on Tuesday, it was off to Pitlochry for Blake and Ken to visit the Edradour distillery. At lunchtime, the girls joined us for lunch at the Moulin Inn, and then a walk about the hills above Pitlochry and a visit to the Caisteal Dubh.
Mmmmm - Whisky, cheese, cards and company
After a more sedate day on Wednesday, when we visited the Sensation Science Centre in Dundee, We went as far as Stirling Castle with the Staceys on Thursday morning before saying our goodbyes.
