London

We arrived on Wednesday the 12th June early in the morning, relatively free of jetlag, but Ken had a nasty flu that he'd managed to sneak through customs.

Sue at Christina's
Sue is seen here a couple of hours after arrival in Christina Choy's flat in W1.

John Soanes
We headed out to John Soane's Museum for our first quirky experience of London. Well worth a visit, it's full of amazing stuff. Note the London Summer attire modelled by Christina and Sue.

Trafalgar Sq
After that - we went for the usual tourist fodder.
We walked from Holborn through to Covent Garden, past St Martin in the fields (we went back here for church on Sunday!) through Trafalgar Sq, down to Westminster and gazed at that building made famous by a brand of sauce - here we are at Trafalgar Sq - Only managed to get two London cliches into this photo. We went out to dinner at a great indian restaurant (Mela Indian Restaunt - 152-156 Shaftesbury Ave)

The next few of days were spent car hunting interrupted only by a visit to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre to catch a performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream. Also highly recommended - although the good seats are a bit pricey - for the budget conscious, you can watch a show for five quid if you're prepared to stand!

We finally picked up a car (a VW Lupo 1.4S) on the 17th and headed out to Windsor for the afternoon.

Windsor
Here Sue is at one of our possible places to stay...

Thames at Eton Thames at Eton w/Swans
Sue's facinated by these swans, they're the wrong colour apparently.

Church in Eton
Cute church in Eton, that's now a surgery - had a really nice garden.

Windsor Station
I just had to take this photo - the anorak in me wouldn't put the camera down.

We had a great curry at the imaginatively named "Golden Curry" in Eton, and then headed back to London.

Lupo lost in London
Here's the new car (the blue one!), spending it's first night, lost in London. The view is from the lobby of Christina's flat. Very W1!
